Physiological and Biomedical Analysis of Human Postures

From the biomechanical viewpoint, low back compression and joint strength capabilities can be obtained for the posture of holding an object. Awkward postures can cause low back pain or joint pain due to resultant joint forces/moments and low percentile joint strength capabilities. Various human postures were examined when holding a heavy object. The physiological and biomedical analysis of the forces and moments were performed. Subsequently, an optimal posture in terms of low back compression was suggested. This study can be broadened to design of mechanical systems within the field of medical rehabilitation.
